Tucker Resources is a Canadian company located in Belleville Ontario that designs, hosts and publishes web sites on a variety of topics. A casual yet professional home based business, usually 2-4 persons at a time, working together to maintain our various company and client owned web sites. In general we do not require knowledge of specific software, etc. As long as a person is extremely computer literate and market aware, we can quickly teach you what you need to know to get your job done.

The following job openings are available on a Part Time, Contract basis. We don't care where on the planet you reside because, frankly, we don't have office space for you. All work is done from your home/office and we will communicate using the Internet, phone and fax.

1. Web Master/Web Assistant

Description:

With some practice, you will become the front-line person responsible for keeping our websites alive and running smoothly. In addition to monitoring the systems you will also respond to client requests. You will also perform marketing tasks such as online research, review other websites and maintain links.

Responsibilities:

Read and respond to client emails
Upload/download files
Surf the Internet conducting research
Review web sites
Modify and design web pages
Modify and design graphics
Updating and writing documentation
Review server logs
Monitor and correct problems with our web sites.

Minimum Requirements:

Fluent verbal and written English skills
Extremely computer and Internet literate
Fast accurate typist
Extremely conscientious
Good attention to details

Preference given to applicants with: UNIX, HTML, web page design, and search engine optimization abilities and experience.

You will work as an independent contractor and be responsible for own tax reporting, insurance, etc. In consultation with us, you will arrange your own schedule and work on your own premises.

Interested candidates should submit cover letter, resume and a short (4 paragraph) critique of one of these two sites focusing on the site's design, usability, marketing appeal and search engine optimization. Starts at $9.50 (USD) per hour. 5 to 15 hours per week.

2. CGI Programmer

Description:

You will use your technical skills to create, maintain and enhance various dynamic online websites. A portion of your job will consist of converting existing Perl CGI scripts to run under mod_perl.

Responsibilities:

Design, write, test and install new CGI software
Modify and enhance CGI software
Maintain documentation within the scripts
Suggest design enhancements and programming best practices.

Minimum Requirements:

A working knowledge of UNIX (FreeBSD)
Practical experience programming in:
- CGI
- PERL
- mod_perl
- JavaScript
Fluent verbal and written English skills

You will work as an independent contractor and be responsible for own tax reporting, insurance, etc. You will arrange your own schedule, working on your own premises, and will be paid upon submission of finished product.

Payment is minimum of $15.00 (USD) per hour or per project basis.

3. Freelance Writer

Description:

You will research and write articles, editorials and aditorials on various topics that we will publish on our websites. These carefully written articles will typically be 200 to 1,000 words length.

Responsibilities:

You will research and write articles on Dating, Relationships, Health, Gambling, Business Opportunities, and other topics of our choosing. You may also suggest other topics related to your expertise.

Minimum Requirements:

You should be articulate, able to write clear English text. The ideal candidate would have already published articles either online or in print.

The writer will arrange own schedule, working on your own premises, and will be paid upon submission of finished product. Writer will work as an independent contractor and be responsible for own tax reporting, etc.

Interested candidates should submit cover letter, resume and two samples of recent work.

Payment starts around 7 cents (USD) per word.
